Guidelines for Progression

Every catalyst is on a personal journey of improvement for which the following guidelines can be used to assess progression. A catalyst can measure their own progression by actively measuring the following indicators.

  • The first point of contact for questions, new solutions, and significant changes to existing solutions

  • Follow up on questions, new solutions, and significant changes to existing solutions to ensure they are addressed

  • The non-conformities to the playbook are kept to a minimum

  • Ensure that topics that are current in the council are shared back to their respective organisation

  • The relevant aspects of the playbook are known by themselves and their colleagues

  • Actively inform the team of the need to review with the architecture council

  • Proactively look for opportunities for architects to have an impact, in particular in emerging areas

  • Actively participate in architecture reviews

  • Influence changes in architecture for their departments/domains in all areas, e.g., reviews, implementation, and council meetings

Each indicator is related to one or more goals and can be calculated through various tools, as described below
